Each jacket in this collection is an authentic 80s vintage trucker denim jacket, sourced from Europe and America, and hand-customised with patches celebrating The Smiths — one of the most influential bands to come out of Manchester, and arguably the defining voice of 80s British indie music.
Formed in 1982, The Smiths paired Johnny Marr’s jangly, intricate guitar work with Morrissey’s sharp, literate, and often darkly funny lyrics. Alongside Andy Rourke on bass and Mike Joyce on drums, they released four studio albums in just five years, including The Queen Is Dead and Meat Is Murder, before splitting in 1987. Despite that short run, their influence is massive — bands from Oasis to The Killers to Radiohead have cited them as a foundational influence, and their sound still defines what “indie” means to a lot of people.
Beyond the music, The Smiths built an aesthetic. Their album covers, iconography, and Morrissey’s persona became inseparable from British subculture and fashion — which is exactly why a Smiths patch belongs on a battered old denim jacket. It’s not just merch. It’s a piece of music history, worn the way it was meant to be worn.
Each jacket features 2 front pockets and 2 side pockets, with V-shaped stitched lining detail on the front pockets. As genuine vintage pieces, they carry a lightly worn, authentic feel — no two are identical, and patch placement may vary slightly by jacket size, though the design concept stays consistent across all sizes.
